about

I worked with an Ohio fellow in a factory who had lived in Tennessee for a while, and just hated it. After moving back to Ohio he claimed the only thing they gave him was "this dumb accent" and that he'd like to "whoop their ass".

He inspired this song.

Tennessee, however, is a lovely place, and I'd be proud to be from there.

lyrics

He lives in a Tennessee trailer with a Tennessee bride has Tennessee teeth and drives a Tennessee ride
Born in a valley, raised on a hill, Oh the Tennessee Blues

He has four Tennessee dogs and three Tennessee cats two Tennessee kids wears a Tennessee hat
Born in a valley, raised on a hill, Oh the Tennessee Blues

He has a Tennessee future and a Tennessee past gets through the day smoking Tennessee grass
Born in a valley, raised on a hill, Oh the Tennessee Blues

Above the door to the kitchen he has a sign that declares he's blessed

He has a Tennessee belly drinks Tennessee beer has Tennessee breath hunts Tennessee deer
Born in a valley, raised on a hill, Oh the Tennessee Blues
